Diptych and Triptych

The theme of this week's photography post:

For my Diptych (two) images, I tried to tell the story of a spotted gecko, who is conveniently called "Spot," wandering about in the urban garden. The images were taken in the loft of a house, where Spots abode is in the form of a glass sanctuary. On such a night out from his regular home, I took images of him, and I wanted to use warm colours to represent that Spot relies on the heat from his external surroundings to regulate his body temperature, even though spotted-gecko's are cold-blooded. I believe the warm colours are inviting and add to the ambience of an inside garden, drawing the viewer closer into Spot's world.

For my Triptych (three) images I tried to create a story with a similar source, however, with individual tales. I followed the sun around the house and found different forms (even if symbolic) of life that were directly in the path of the sun, and all subjects seemed to happily soak up its rays. There are warm and cool colours in each image, with the sun casting diverse hues across each photo, creating a mood decipherable for each. The sun is the source; that leaves energy and life in its wake.
